The short version
- Free during early access.
- Your data stays yours. We use it to run the service for you, and that’s it.
- Verdicts are statistics about your measurements, not a guarantee of how your site performs.
- You can stop at any time, and delete your projects and data whenever you like.
Agreement
These terms are between you and CodeGecko legal entity. If you use CodeGecko for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you can. Our privacy policy and, for business customers, the data processing agreement are part of these terms.
Your account
- Give accurate details, and keep your sign-in and keys safe. Rotate a key if you think it’s exposed.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- You need to be at least 16, and old enough to make a contract where you live.
Early access
CodeGecko is in early access. Features can change, and some will be labeled preview. We work to keep data safe and the service up, but early access comes with fewer promises than the full release will. Uptime and incidents are published on the status page.
Acceptable use
Use CodeGecko only on sites you own or are allowed to measure. Don’t:
- send personal data through the collector or APIs, or change the collector to do so;
- try to get into other projects, bypass rate limits, or probe our systems without permission;
- flood the collection API, resell the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- use it for anything illegal.
You’re responsible for telling your visitors about CodeGecko in your own privacy policy where the law requires it.
Your data
You own the data you send us: measurements, releases, commits and settings. You give us permission to store and process it to run CodeGecko for you. We may use aggregated, anonymous statistics that can’t identify you or your site to improve the product.
You can delete a project at any time from its settings, and everything in it goes. For a copy of your data, write to us.
About verdicts
Verdicts follow the rules in our methodology. They describe changes in measurements from real visits; they aren’t a guarantee, an audit, or advice. Lists of what shipped show commits, not causes. Decisions about your releases stay yours.
Our service
CodeGecko, its software, design, name and gecko are ours. These terms give you the right to use the service, not to copy it. If you send feedback, we can use it freely, with no obligation to you.
Suspension and ending
You can stop at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or goes unpaid, and we’ll warn you first when we reasonably can. If we ever shut CodeGecko down, we’ll give at least 60 days notice and a way to export your data.
Disclaimers
CodeGecko is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or fit a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. CodeGecko legal entity’s total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law. Confirm with counsel.
Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used CodeGecko, or data you sent in breach of these terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of that claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. For significant changes, we’ll email account owners at least 30 days ahead. If you keep using CodeGecko after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of State of California, USA, and disputes go to the courts of San Mateo County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
